The national artist of Ukraine

The national artist of Ukraine (2013). The award named after Kateryna Bilokur laureate (2009). The folk art of Ukraine honored master (1981). The National Artists Union of Ukraine member (since 1977).

Awarded the order «For merits» III degree (2009).

Born on October 29, 1950, in Petrykivka village, Dnipropetrovsk region.
Studied the artistic mastery basics from renowned master V. I. Sokolenkoin Petrykivka children’s art school named after T. Ya. Pata. Graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk State Art College majoring in «Fine Art and Pedagogy» (1969, teachers V. M. Shpihanovych, K. S. Berkut).

Began the labor activity in the field of Petrykivka painting at the «Druzhba»art products factory in 1971.From the very beginning of the creative way actively working on the revival of artistic wood products manufacturing.

A deep understanding of folk artistic traditions, organically combined with wide innovation; focus on solving actual problems of Petrykivka painting development are inherent to the master`s creative work.

Since 1972 has been combining creative work with pedagogical activity, educating future generation, working with creative youth within a permanent creative seminar organized by him.

Educated a number of talented masters, including the Folk Art of Ukraine Honored Masters N. M. Rybak, M. I. Pikush, V. I. Karpets, V. I. Milenko, as well as NAUU (National Artists Union of Ukraine) members L. F.Sklyar, M. I. Pata and others.

In 1991 organized the first in Ukraine «Petrykivka» Folk Art Centre» collective enterprise, that kept and united Petrykivka creative asset in challenging for the industry economic conditions, when folk crafts enterprises in the branch have stopped. He is elected as a board chairman and fulfills artistic director duties on public basis during twenty years. The collective, which brings together about 40 masters is the leading folk artistic painting enterprise in both the region and Ukraine.

In current conditions A. A. Pikush continues the active creative work, making the transition to new, promising to Petrykivka, materials (artistic glass, ceramics, textiles), actively participates in exhibitions, created a number of architectural objects` original paintings.

The participant of regional and republican art exhibitions since 1972, national and international ones – since 1976.Represented Ukraine at the «Human and World» international exhibition (1983), Petrykivka painting exhibition in Poland (1986, Warsaw, Gdansk Sopot) Canada (EXPO–83, Montreal; 1993 – Winnipeg, Saskatoon); USA (2000, Chicago, Philadelphia).
The master`s works are included in collections of Ukrainian and world museums.

Andriy Pikush

The national artist of Ukraine, award named after Kateryna Bilokur laureate. The National Artists Union of Ukraine member, the National Folk Art Masters Union of Ukraine member. The honorable resident of Bohdanivka village and Petrykivka village.

Born on December 1, 1941 (according to the passport, on January 15, 1942) in Bohdanivka village, Kyiv region. The student of the national artist of Ukraine Kateryna Bilokur (since 1952).

During 1961–1990 she was an artist at the «Druzhba» souvenir products factory. Had been working in Petrykivka painting technique for 30 years, painting various works: from souvenirs (on paper, wood, metal) to wall paintings. The work peculiarity is graceful birds, perfect compositions and color solutions. Since 1990 has been dedicating all the time to painting, as the only student and follower of Kateryna Bilokur.

The participant of regional, national exhibitions since 1967. In 1977 represented Ukraine in USA (Los Angeles). The works are in Ukrainian museums` funds and private collections.

The folk art of Ukraine honored master (since 2006). The National Folk Art Masters Union of Ukraine member (since 1995). The Deputy Chairman of the National Folk Art Masters Union of Ukraine Kharkiv regional center. The laureate of the award named after Danylo Shcherbakivskyi (2003).

Born on April 7, 1963, in Petrykivka village, Dnipropetrovsk region, in the family of folk artist of Ukraine Hanna Samars`ka. From1982 to 1983 taught Petrykivka paintingat the educational plant of Petrykivka village. Graduated from Dnipropetrovsk Art College (1982), Kharkiv Art and Industry Institute (1988).

A permanent participant of regional, national and international exhibitions since 1985. In particular, visited France (Lyon, 1996), Germany (Nuremberg, 2009), Japan (Nagoya, 2005), China (Hong Kong, 2015).

Works on paper, canvas, fabric, wood, metal, paints interiors. The works size isdiverse: from miniature souvenir production to painting of interiors and facades, the area of which up to dozens of square meters.

Prefers monumental works, on the creation of which always works together with her husband Oleksandr Vakulenko. Together they painted the National Artists Union of Ukraine interior in 2003. The favorite subject is birds, a tree of life. Much attention gives to the coloring, uses complex colors combinations.

Since 2011 has taught students Petrykivka painting in Kharkiv and Kyiv. Thanks to Tamara Vakulenko pedagogical activity, Petrykivka painting art in Kharkiv region continues to exist in each of her students’ creative works. The artist works are in Ukrainian museums` funds and private collections.

The folk art of Ukraine honored master (since 2009). The National Folk Art Masters Union of Ukraine member (since 1995). The Chairman of the National Folk Art Masters Union of Ukraine Kharkiv regional center. The laureate of the award named after Danylo Shcherbakivskyi (2003).

Born on March 21, 1963, in the city of Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Krai (Russia). Graduated from Kharkiv Art College (1982), Kharkiv Art and Industry Institute (1988).

Works in Petrykivka painting technique and creates vytynanky (Slavic version of the art form of paper cutting, popular in Belarus, Poland, and Ukraine). Mostly these are works on canvas, wood, paper and wall. When creating monumental products works with his wife Tamara Vakulenko. Together they painted the National Artists Union of Ukraine interior in 2003. A permanent participant of regional, national and international exhibitions since 1985, in particular, his works were exhibited in France (Lyon, 1996) and Germany (Nuremberg, 2009).

The favorite subjects: multi-figured compositions on historical themes, Trypilya (Neolithic–Eneolithic archaeological culture in Eastern Europe) motives. The works are in Ukrainian museums` funds and private collections.

The «Folk Art Masters Association of Ukraine» public organization Vice President, highest category pedagogue-methodologist, Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Theatrical and Art College «Decorative and Applied Art» specialty, Associate Professor of the Dnipropetrovsk National University named after O. Honchar Fine Art and Design Department.

Born on October 30, 1963, in Petrykivka village, Dnipropetrovsk region. Graduated from Petrykivka children’s art school named after T. Ya. Pata (1978, teachers: F. S. Panko and O. I. Latun); Dnipropetrovsk State Art College named after Ye. V. Vuchetych (1982); Dnipropetrovsk National University named after O. Honchar (2010, «Ukrainian Philology and Art Criticism» faculty).

During 1983–1990 she was a teacher of Petrykivka children’s art school. Petrykivka painting master of the Dnipropetrovsk art and manufacturing plant Experimental workshop of USSR Art Fund (1983–2000).

The participant of regional, national and international exhibitions since 1980. During 2012–2013 represented Ukraine in Belarus (Gomel, Bobruisk, Vitebsk, Minsk), Belgium (Brussels),Kuwait (KuwaitCity), Greece (Athens), Uzbekistan (Tashkent), China (Beijing), Bulgaria (Sophia), France (Paris). Conducted a master class in «Mystetskyi Arsenal» («Art Arsenal») for the OSCE representatives of 167 world countries (2013, Kyiv). The participant of Ethnic design III International Congress (2015, the city of Kosiv, Ivano-Frankivsk region).

Creates paintings, differing by decorative saturation of colors and ornamental compositions. Her works are a direct response to the rare according to richness and generosity nature, so they attract the attention by rich handling of floral ligature, juicy bright flavor, in which red, crimson, green, orange paints dominate. Their rich tonal sheet music from cold violet-lilac to “hot” ocher-orange ones seems to radiate a joy, creates a sense of celebration.

During the years of pedagogical activity Tetyana Anatoliyivna taught 144 students, 63 of them performed diploma works using Petrykivka painting.

Нагороджений орденом «Знак пошани» (1977), орденом «Червоного прапора» (1977).

Народився 1 липня 1939 р. в с. Червонопартизанське Петриківського р-ну Дніпропетровської обл. Перші спроби малювання петриківського розпису були зроблені під керівництвом і з допомогою мами. З дитинства найбільше любив малювати півників та інших птахів.

Основи петриківського розпису опановував у Петриківській дитячій художній школі під керівництвом В. І. Соколенка. Закінчив Дніпропетровський технологічний технікум (1960). Проте мрією було пов’язати своє життя із малюванням.

Працював у цеху підлакового розпису при артілі вишивальниць «Вільна селянка» (з 1961), відроджуючи і розвиваючи петриківський розпис у повоєнний час. Наставниками художника в той час були Федір Панко, Марія Шишацька, Іван Завгородній. Пройшов шлях від художника-виконавця до головного художника фабрики «Дружба» (так став називатися цех після перейменування).

Працюючи у складі творчої групи, яку створив В. Соколенко, розробив багато нових форм художніх виробів, а також малюнків їх розпису, що успішно впроваджувалися у виробництво. З 1991 року Володимир Андрійович працює в «Центрі народного мистецтва «Петриківка».
Малює Петриківку на папері, розписує вироби з дерева, пластмаси, металу, виконує розписи інтер’єрів.

Учасник Всеукраїнських виставок з 1967 року. Представляв народне мистецтво України на міжнародних виставках у Німеччині (м. Лепйпціг, 1978, 1980). Роботи В. А. Глущенко входять до багатьох музейних і приватних колекцій в Україні та за кордоном.

Часто майстер створює картини під впливом українських народних пісень «Стояв старий з молодою, як із ягодкою», «Ой, там Роман воли пасе», «Як би мені не тиночки» і як продовження цієї теми картина «Занедужав я в дорозі».

Awarded a bronze medal of the USSRENEA (Exhibition of National Economy Achievements) Main Committee (1977); «Labour Veteran» medal (1986); Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council Honorable distinction of respect (2013).

Born on November 22, 1951, in Petrykivka village, Dnipropetrovsk region.

Studied fine art and Petrykivka painting in Petrykivka children’s art school named after T. Ya. Pata.

Began the creative activity in 1966 as an artist-performer at the «Druzhba» Petrykivka art products factory. During 1977–1993 – the creative group`s artist of the «Druzhba» Petrykivka art products factory. Since 1994 has been working in Petrykivka professional and technical college № 79 as an industrial training master majoring in «Artist of Wood Painting». «Higher class master» qualifying category.

The participant of regional, national and international exhibitions. In particular, during the USSR National Exhibition in France (1986, Paris) demonstrated Petrykivkamalovky (decorative painting on thin paper, made with aniline paints – «maniyky», which replaced the wall painting in the hut interior design) and products at the UNESCO headquarters.

Since 2009 – the participant of establishing cultural relations with Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.

The jury member and participant of the «We are from Ukraine» international program, initiated by Dnipropetrovsk RSA(Regional State Administration), PetrykivkaRegional Cultural Foundation named after Petro Kalnyshevs`kyi and Dnipropetrovsk Art Museum.

The composition sketch author and participant of establishing a record of the country’s largest Petrykivka painting handmade ornamental ribbon (2012, registered by the National Registry of Ukrainian Records and Book of Ukrainian Records).

In 2013 developed the author`s painting, approved byDnipropetrovsk Regional Council and is a Petrykivka art brand of Petrykivka village and Dnipropetrovsk region.

Lyudmyla Horbulya contribution to the Petrykivka painting development is huge and highly appreciated by the leadership of the village, region and state. Among the awards are diplomas, certificates of honor, gratitudes: of the Education and Science Ministry of Ukraine (2000, diploma), the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (2007,certificate of honor).

Embodies Petrykivka on various materials – paper, wood, metal, paints interiors and exteriors of buildings.

Народилася 27 червня 1970 р. у с. Миколаївка Верходніпровського р-ну Дніпропетровської обл.

Упродовж 1987–1989 рр. навчалася у Петриківському СПТУ-79 за спеціальністю «Художник розпису по дереву» та індивідуально у майстра народної творчості О. І. Зінчук (1989–1990).

З 1990 р. – майстер петриківського розпису Експериментального цеху петриківського розпису Дніпропетровського художньо-виробничого комбінату. Нині працює у Центрі народного мистецтва «Петриківка».

Учасниця обласних та Всеукраїнських виставок з 1991 року. Роботи знаходяться у музеях та приватних колекціях України та за кордоном, зокрема у Канаді, США, Японії.

У техніці петриківського розпису виконує панно на папері і дереві, розписує декоративні тарелі, вази, іграшки, інтер’єри, меблі, побутові речі. Улюблені теми – квіти, птахи. У залежності від теми і матеріалу розпису використовує холодну або гарячу кольорову гаму.

Карпець-Єрмолаєва Валентина Іванівна

The folk art of Ukraine honored master (2014), Petrykivka painting national master (since 1989). The National Artists Union of Ukraine member (since 1994), the National Folk Art Masters Union of Ukraine member (since 2001).

Born on April 22, 1957, in Popovo-Balivka (now Balivka) village, Dnipropetrovsk region. Studied at Petrykivka training and production plant (teacher A. Pikush). Graduated from the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts (2012, «Design» specialty, qualification – clothes designer).

Worked as an artist performer at the «Druzhba» Petrykivka art products factory during 1986–1990.Since 1992 – the Dnipropetrovsk NAUU (National Artists Union of Ukraine) organization «Petrykivka» Folk Art Centernational master.

Draws on paper, paints krashanky (Easter eggs), boxes and authors` paper towels. In 2012 presented 12 «Petrykivka» towels (paper, width –40 cm, length – 1 m 50 cm) at the exhibition in Dnipropetrovsk Art Museum. Plans to embody them on canvas by means of embroidery.

The artist works are distinguished by the ability to organically combine the idea of surrounding world, creative temperament with Petrykivka decorative painting age-old tradition. The author`s manner identity of the artist is read in colors and carefully thought-out patterns that one will never confuse with other artists works. Among favorite elements are images of flowers and birds. Uses a variety of colors. The shades of fire –yellow, orange, red – are the most favorite.

The craftswoman has developed her own system of young artists teaching and leads Petrykivka painting course in Odessa. Experimenting, began to use vegetable juice along with paints. Now it is an artist visiting card.

The participant of regional, national and international exhibitions since 1988, including in Russia (Moscow, 2002), Belarus (Vitebsk, 2000), USA (Chicago, 2000), Canada (Toronto, 2005, 2007). The participant of folk crafts and trades masters competition of the «Slavic Bazaar» International Arts Festival in Vitebsk (Belarus, 2000).

Заслужений майстер народної творчості України (1981). Член Національної спілки художників України (1962).

Ветеран Великої Вітчизняної війни. Нагороджений орденами «За мужність», «Вітчизняної війни», та багатьма медалями.

Народився 17 січня 1922 р. в с. Петриківка Дніпропетровської обл. основам петриківського розпису навчався у Петриківській школі декоративного малювання у славетної майстрині Тетяни Пати.

Творчий шлях розпочав у 1949 р. участю в обласній художній виставці. Активний учасник всеукраїнських виставок (з 1951), міжнародних (з 1958). Від самого початку визначався особливою самобутністю, оригінальністю авторського стилю, життєстверджуючою енергією, вишуканістю композицій.

У 1960-ті роки створює велику серію барвистих панно-плакатів на теми миру та українських народних пісень. Плакати часто визначалися преміями та дипломами всесоюзних і міжнародних конкурсів, відіграли велике значення в популяризації петриківського розпису у повоєнний період.

Упродовж 1962–1982 рр. поєднував творчу працю з педагогічною діяльністю, викладаючи петриківський розпис у гуртках-студіях і Петриківській дитячій художній школі. За 20 років педагогічної діяльності В. Соколенко зробив значний внесок у підготовку молодої зміни Петриківки, багато його учнів нині успішно працюють як майстри петриківського розпису, зокрема Т. Кудіш, А. Пікуш, Н. Шулик та ін.

У 1971 р., як один з визнаних лідерів Петриківки, був запрошений на посаду головного художника фабрики «Петриківський розпис», де працював до 1992 р. Василь Соколенко є одним із найбільших новаторів у мистецтві розпису – саме йому належить ідея відродження розпису виробів з дерева. Петриківка, виконана на дереві, стала довговічнішою і якіснішою.

Ентузіазм майстра проявився у створенні музею фабрики, де зібрані роботи петриківських майстрів і художників, які працювали на підприємстві.
Дослідники констатують: внесок Василя Соколенка у відродження традицій петриківського розпису неоціненний.

Born on August 13, 1941, in Petrykivka village, Dnipropetrovsk region. Graduated from Petrykivka children’s art school named after T. Ya. Pata (teacher – F. S. Panko).

Worked at the «Petrykivka painting» factory and Experimental Petrykivka painting workshop of the Dnipropetrovsk art and manufacturing plant. Currently working at the «Petrykivka» Folk Art Centre.

The participant of regional, republican and international exhibitions. The works are kept in Ukraine and abroad.

Nina Turchyn

The folk art of Ukraine honored master (1991). The higher class master-painter (1979).
Awarded a bronze medal of USSR ENEA (Exhibition of National Economy Achievements) (1973), III degree diplomas of USSR ENEA (1976, 1986).

Born on April 4, 1947, in Petrykivka village, Dnipropetrovsk region. Graduated from Petrykivka children’s art school named after T. Ya. Pata (teachers – F. S. Panko, V. I. Sokolenko). Began the creative activity in 1962, working as an artist-performer, and since 1974 as creative master at the «Druzhba» factory. The mother – Mariya Shyshatska – was his mentor. During 1986–1994 – the «Druzhba» factory main artist. Since 1994 has been working in a home studio. Paints glass, wood and metal products with Petrykivka.

The participant of regional, republican, union and international exhibitions since 1964, in particular USSR ENEA (1972, 1975, Moscow) and World Olympics-80cultural program. Represented Petrykivka in Mongolia (1986), Canada (1992, Vancouver), Austria (1992).

The National Artists Union of Ukraine member, Moresten Contemporary Art Association member (2013, France). Born on November 18, 1968, in Petrykivka village, Dnipropetrovsk region. Graduated from Petrykivka children’s art school named after
T. Ya. Pata (teacher – F. S. Panko) and from Myrhorod ceramic technical school named after M. V. Gogol (teacher – A. V. Kyrychenko).

One of the most active and significant modern Petrykivka craftswomen, has a heritage of several dozen exhibitions, in particular 25 personal ones, in many world countries – Ukraine, France, Bulgaria, USA, Canada, Georgia, Belarus, Kuwait, Uzbekistan, China, Turkmenistan, Spain, Greece, Netherlands.

Anidentity and succession of older generation legendary masters’ best traditions are inherent to the artist. Each of her work is a glorification of her native land beauty, a sense of celebration.

Embodies «Petrykivka» on various materials: paper, wood, glass, interiors’ walls. The Ukrainian countryside, flowers, Cossack Mamay are among the favorite subjects. In recent years tends to religious themes. Christmas, Easter, Intercession of the Theotokos, angels are on her paintings.

Participated in the interior design of three temples: St. Yuriy temple (Kyiv, 2011), Intercession of the Theotokoschurch in the Shevchenkove village (Kyiv region, 2014),
St. Repast temple (2015). Painted interiors of the Ukrainian cultural center in Paris (France, 2012).

Born on August 15, 1960, in Petrykivka village, Dnipropetrovsk region. Studied Petrykivka painting from her father – F. Panko. A participant of regional, national and international art exhibitions since 1978.

Creates traditional Petrykivka malyovky – paper wall panels, and decorative vases and plates with bright flowers and fantastic pea cocks as well.

The most of artist’s works were inspired by the Ukrainian classics` poetry – Taras Shevchenko, Leonid Glibov, Borys Oliynyk. Many works devoted to the fairy tales and folk songs themes. Uses various materials – wood, ceramics, glass, canvas, wall paintings are the most favorite. Prefers one tone, but with a variety of shades.

Participated in the design of the Ukrainian trade and industrial exhibitions, held in India, Japan, Algeria, Hungary, Spain. Designed the interiors of many institutions with an artists` group, including the solemn events hall in Petrykivka village, «Petrykivka Hall» of the «Mayak» restaurant (Dnipropetrovsk), conference hall of the Ukrainian Republican Peace Committee (Kyiv), «Shchekavytsya» restaurant (Kyiv, 2007), «U pana polkovnyka» («At Mr. Colonel`s») restaurant (Kyiv, Chervonoarmiyska str., 2008), Dnipropetrovsk State channel television studio.

The artist, designer, the National Folk Art Masters Union of Ukraine member (since 2013).

Born on June 30, 1989, in Kharkiv in the artists` family. Graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts majoring in «Fabrics Artistic Modeling», received a diploma with honors and Master’s degree in Fabrics Design (2012).

During 2012–2014 received the President of Ukraine scholarship for young folk art masters. The scholar of the Kharkiv regional young talents support fund (in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2010).

The winner of the national competition-review under the «New Names of Ukraine» program (2003).

Works in genres of the Ukrainian decorative painting, book and easel graphics, vytynanka (Slavic version of the art form of paper cutting, popular in Belarus, Poland, and Ukraine), batik, clothes painting, graphic design. Conducts master classes for adults and children. Olesya Vakulenko offers her own, original vision of modern Petrykivka painting development, which she shows in her works.

The permanent participant of regional and national exhibitions since 1996, in particular, had personal exhibitions in museums and galleries of France (Paris), Germany (Nuremberg).

Olesya illustrated more than 10 books that were published in various publishing houses of Kharkiv, Kyiv and Lviv.

In 2014 founded her own creative workshop that specializes in the exclusive hand-painted clothing manufacturing.

Born on April 11, 1977, in Kyiv. During 1991–1993 studied at the Kyiv Regional College of Culture majoring in «Library Science and Bibliography». During 2005–2015 studied at the department of «Interior Design and Equipment» at the «Ukraine» Open International University of Human Development. Master of Interior Design, teacher-researcher.

Works in different genres, but prefers decorative Petrykivka painting. A participant of city and international exhibitions and art projects. Embodies Petrykivka on various materials: paper, wood, glass, fabric, paints interiors.

Professionally has begun to create paintings since July, 2009. Among the favorite subjects are charming birds and flowers, guarding symbolics – «Berehynya» (female spirit in Slavic mythology with a function of «hearth mother, protectoress of the home»). The artist innovative approaches can be traced in the series of works «Still lives in Petrykivka painting» (2013) and the series «Armenian Khachkary (stone crosses) in Petrykivka painting» on which the crafts woman has worked from 2014 till now.

Maryna Sarkisyan was called «The Ukrainian soul with Armenian heart» in one of publications about the artist work and this, indeed, vividly describes the crafts woman creative heritage. Petrykivka painting for Maryna Surenivna is the Ukrainian soul merging with Armenian roots of her origin, as she was born in Ukraine and this is her home land, and Khachkary1 is a symbol and heart of Armenia. So, they intertwine into the precious treasure in the artist heart.

The craftswoman works are kept in private collections in Ukraine and abroad. In her works she does not stop at the established subjects, constantly looking for innovative approaches to works creating, improving artistic and professional excellence in order to continue to please adherents with her creativity.


1 Khachkar (Armenian: խաչքար,literally «cross-stone») is a kind of Armenian monuments, a stone stele with a carved cross image, usually set along the roads, monasteries, inside and on the temples facades.

A member of the National Folk Art Masters Union of Ukraine, Folk Masters Association of Ukrainein Petrykivka village. A member of the Dnipropetrovsk Art House Folk Art Masters Association and Kryvorizhzhya masters` center.

Born on January 21, 1981. The desire to paint appeared since 4 years old. Studied the painting art from her mother – Valentyna Khomenko. Graduated from Petrykivka art school named after T. Ya. Pata.

Participated in exhibitions in Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan (both – 2013). Established «The longest paper tape with Petrykivka painting» Record of Ukraine on May 31, 2015.

Painted interiors of the first Ukrainian restaurant on the Cote d’Azur (Nice, France, 2015) and Dnipropetrovsk Medical College. Represented Ukraine at the celebration of «Independence Day of Ukraine in Germany» (Berlin, 2015).

Born on December 4, 1954, in Petrykivka village. Even Mrs. Valentyna`s grandmother painted furnace and hut with Petrykivka plant ornament. It is evident that desire to paint was transmitted to granddaughter as well. Graduated from Petrykivka children’s art school named after T. Ya. Pata (teachers – V. I. Sokolenko, O. Z. Latun). Since 1971 worked at the «Druzhba» factory as an artist-performer.

A participant of personal, regional, national and international exhibitions. Took part in the «Petrykivkais the pearl of Ukraine» exhibition in Belarus (Mohyliv, 2013), Azerbaijan – «Petrykivka painting is the Ukrainian decorative and ornamental painting» exhibition (Baku, 2013).

Represented Ukraine at the celebration of «Independence Day of Ukraine in Germany» (Berlin, 2015). Established «The longest paper tape with Petrykivka painting» (210m40sm) Record of Ukraine with her daughter V. Tymoshenko on May 31, 2015.

Born on January 24, 1970, in Petrykivka village, Dnipropetrovsk region. Related to the older generation legendary masters with her roots.

Studied Petrykivka painting at Children’s art school named after T. Ya. Pata, F. Panko was the first teacher. In 1988 continued the creative way as an experimental workshop student (teacher – A. Pikush). From 1989 to 2000 worked at the «Petrykivka» Folk Art Center.

Olena Yarmolyuk is soft and poetic person according to her spiritual fullness composition. Hence the special melodious lyricism of her colored ornamental plexuses, strange, exquisitely sophisticated works: «Vesnyanyi podyh» («Spring Breath») (2014), «Veselkovyi buket» («Rainbow Bouquet») (2014), «Bilym tsvitom kalyna tsvite» («Guelder Rose blooms with white blossom») (2013).

The craftswoman embodies Petrykivka on various materials: paper, wood, interior walls. The favorite subjects: the variety of flowers, herbs –everything that makes native Prydniprovya unique and picturesque corner. Likes to create panels with charming birds and story panels with Ukrainians. One can observe in her works, how the mastery formation occurs in compositional colored decorative ornament decision, in which the main role is given to the color and rhythmic harmony of plastic vocabulary.

Today Olena Yarmolyuk adopts the experience of the world famous Petrykivka painting master Halyna Nazarenko, as she considers that one should always learn and grow professionally. Craftswomen painted together Petrykivka chapel near St. Panteleimon source in Hutirs`ke village, Dnipropetrovsk region.

The active participant of national and international exhibitions, particularly in Georgia (Tbilisi, Batumi, 2014). The first personal exhibition took place in Dnipropetrovsk (2014). The craftswoman works preserved in museums and private collections.

Born on April 24, 1963, in the city of Krasnodar (Russia). Since 1968 has lived in Lviv. Studied Petrykivka painting from Kyiv artist Yuliya Rozhkova and famous Petrykivka craftswoman Halyna Nazarenko. Paints on various materials: paper, glass, wood, leather. Moreover, paints textiles, leather products, glassware and interiors (St. Panteleimon Church in Lviv, «Source» children’s rehabilitation center, dwelling).

Besides the traditional Petrykivka themes, the artist uses Slavic symbolics and themes of the Ukrainian history in her works.

Thus, in 2013, a series of 11 paintings devoted to Slavic guardian symbols was launched:

Alatyr or the Cross of Svaroh – a symbol of help in family creating, procreation. One of the most powerful amulets.

Zorya – a symbol of the cosmic Circulation Law, human mental protection. One of the most powerful amulets.

Duhobor – a religious symbol of the initial inner Fire of Life that exterminates bodily illness and Spirit and Soul illness as well.

The Shield of Perun – a protective symbol, amulet from enemies and debts.
The Sign of Veles – business and trade amulet.

Lada – female amulet.

Ladynets or the Cross of Lada – a symbol of Love, Harmony and Happiness in the family. As an amulet it was worn mostly by girls to be protected from the «evil eye».

Kolyadnyk – a symbol of the victory of Light over darkness and the Light Day over Night. Men amulet that gives strength in creative work and battle with enemies.

Dazhboh – a symbol gives human happiness, benefit, good, wealth and protection from dark powers.

Svaor – symbolizes the endless, constant Heaven Movement, a sign of welfare and happiness.

Velesovnyk – an amulet of travelers, hunters and fishermen.
In 2014, the artist created several paintings on the Maidan theme (a wave of public protests in Maidan Nezalezhnosti («Independence Square») in Kyiv, demanding closer European integration), where burning barrels, tires are combined with patterns and symbols of Petrykivka painting.

Born on March 10, 1988, in Petrykivka village, Dnipropetrovsk region. Mastered Petrykivka painting basics in childhood. Studied at Petrykivka children’s art school named after T. Ya. Pata (1998–2002, teachers –Valentyna Fedorivna Panko (Petrykivka painting), Udovenko Oleksandr Leonidovych (painting). Performs Petrykivka on various materials: paper, wood, metal.

Graduated from Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University (2010, Foreign Languages Faculty (English, German) and «Kryvyi Rih National University» SHEI (State Higher Educational Institution) (2014, Arts Faculty (Fine Art). Currently is «Architecture Basics» Department assistant of «Prydniprovya State Academy of Construction and Architecture» SHEI.

The participant of regional, national and international exhibitions and presentations of Petrykivka painting art, particularly in Brazil (2011), Kuwait (Kuwait), Czech Republic (Praha), France (Paris, UNESCO headquarters), Poland (Wroclaw), Greece (Corfu island), Spain (Madrid, «Ateneo de Madrid» cultural and scientific institute), Morocco (Rabat), China (Beijing) – all in 2013; Croatia (2014, Zagreb), Greece (2015, Athens).

Born on February 9, 1994, in Petrykivka village, Dnipropetrovsk region. Graduated from Petrykivka children’s art school named after T. Ya. Pata (2008) and Petrykivka children’s music school (2009). Since 2012 has been studying at the Prydniprovya State Academy of Construction and Architecture (Architecture Faculty, «Architectural Environment Design» speciality). Simultaneously gets a second degree studying at the Dnipropetrovsk National University named after O. Honchar («Psychology» specialty).Taught Petrykivka painting at Dnepropetrovsk SCS (Secondary Comprehensive School) №20 (2013).

Paints since childhood. Actively participates in exhibitions, competitions, festivals. Thus, presented Petrykivka painting during promotional tours and exhibitions in Canada (2005, Toronto), Brazil (2010), 2013: Czech Republic, France, Poland; Greece (2015, Athens).
